Alli & Jeff - Illinois - Wedding

Alli & Jeff got to celebrate FINALLY with all their friends and family in May. I know they had one hack of a time trying to make sure they could have everyone they wanted there. Between venue changes, and everything else, they settled on a backyard reception. It was AMAZING. At one point, Jeff’s dad even said he wanted the party to be so loud and crazy that the cops got called. 27E sure did try and bring the house down.
It was just a fun day, filled with their friends and families love. It was truly evident in all aspects of their day.

Jonah - Smash Cake

Hands down… favorite smash cake. 2020 has been a crappy year but its really pushed my creativity and set the bar high for awesome sessions like this! Jessica & Adam were a past couple of mine and already are celebrating this little chunks first birthday! This sweet baseball themed smash cake was SO fun.
It started to rain about 10 mixtures before we were done with the session, but the sky did some pretty cool things afterward.

Kearney Family

I was so excited for this session back in June! I swear they are just the sweetest family ever. Their two boys are so smiley and we had NO shortages in smiles.
This was a nice way to kick off outdoor sessions for sure! <3

Kelly & Nathan - Lake County Fair Grounds - Crown Point, Indiana

Okay Kelly & Nathan were models in their past lives… or they are models now.. Either way they are stunning and I was so happy I could capture these memories for them!
I dont have much to say, because the images speak for themselves…

It was such a fun day! Nathan and his boys having an afternoon shot, or two. Kelly and her girls getting some ice cream at culver’s! <3

Kaylyn Turns 3!

Trish had a fantastic idea for Kaylyn’s 3rd birthday pictures! Wearing her mommy’s wedding dress! Like any little girl, playing dress up is the highlight of the day. K’s eyes LIT up when she saw her mom’s wedding dress. This was one of my favorite sessions with the Sim’s family!

Hadley Grey - Lifestyle Session

I was so excited to get another lifestyle newborn session!
Mom and Dad had the perfect nursery set up for her, so much natural light!
This has to be my favorite lifestyle session to date.. Look at those facial expressions. <3

Max - Fresh 48 & Lifestyle Newborn

I met Cortney and Dave in December for my Christmas mini sessions. Cortney then reached out for a fresh 48 AND lifestyle session. I was beyond thrilled. Seeing as I don’t get a lot of Fresh 48 sessions I was so excited. A week later, I was welcomed into their home for their lifestyle newborn session. I hope to see this beautiful family of 3 soon!

Sarah, David & Tucker - Lifestyle Session

I absolutely adore when my past wedding couples. I LOVE when I get to hear from them from time to time. I love it even more when they call me and say they got a puppy and want pictures with their new puppy. Survey sayyyysss. ILL BE THERE! I love dogs. I love small puppies, big puppies, and old puppies.
Disclaimer. If you have a “old dog" its still a puppy… it will always be a puppy to me.

I loved everything about this session <3 <3

Seeing the wedding photos, I took around their home just made my heart so happy.

Kasey & Jim - Family Session

I literally squealed the day of Kasey and Jim’s family session, because it snowed! I never dreamed I would love a snow session as much as theirs… Taltree was the perfect location too! It was very hard to stop snapping at the end of their session. It was beautiful! <3

Klobuka Family

I was missing the sunshine and warmth this morning, so I thought id blog one of my favorite Fall family sessions.
I know I don’t post a lot about family sessions anymore, as weddings have completely taken over. Its no secret I am a wedding photographer, but I still adore family sessions… Interacting with your kids, making them smile, and my favorite “SQUUUUUISH”.
I make sure we get a couple “grandma poses”, ya know just incase. The remainder of the time is spent cuddling, and asking the kids to look up your nose..
I miss family sessions. I miss sun… and warmth. Not the mosquitos though…..

Weiler Family

Sometimes you meet a family and everything just clicks. I have photographed the Weiler family a few times now, and every time I see those adorable girls they seem to get bigger and even more beautiful. This time we added a few more family members, which made a perfect beach family session. I don't get too many extend family sessions on the beach, but when I do I jump for joy. The sunset that night did not disappoint either. It was so clear you could see Chicago right across the lake.

Autumn & Jim - Lifestyle Session

I LOVE when a couple contacts me and says "we want to just cuddle in our home and have you document it. Is that something you do"? UM HECK YA! I already love you!
Being in your own home, you are more relaxed and its a familiar area. It makes things SO much easier.
These two were so fun. We just talked and laughed. Jim made fun of us for wanting to sit on the floor and drink coffee. It was just a fun morning <3
I need more of these sessions in my life.

Ryan & Amanda - July 14th - Schererville

Amanda & Ryan had the most beautiful day for a wedding. It wasn't melting hot, tears were shed, and two love birds now get to spend the rest of their lives together. I enjoyed their day so much. These two vibed so well their bridal portraits were a breeze! I just couldn't stop!
The best part of the day was when Amanda just picked up her dress, and ran. Which prompted Ryan to just run after her and wrap his arms around her. Hands down the best portrait ever. I knew that it was something special.

Morgan & Devlin - May 27th - The Pavilion at Sandy Pines

y'all now how much I love Sandy Pines right? The natural light in the bridal house is one of my favorite things about this venue. So when Morgan said that she was getting married at Sandy Pines, I about fell over. A spring wedding at sandy pines? I was IN. When we got together for their engagement session I loved how Devlin would look at Morgan, right then I was super excited for their wedding day. <3

Ashlee & Donald - Engagement - Chicago

When your best friend is getting married, you go to Chicago for the day. My birthday this year was spent taking Ashlee & Donald's engagement photos in Chicago. Let me tell you, it was a bright beautiful day with lots of giggles from Ashlee and I and complaints from Donald. Photographing your best friend always comes with perks like when you tell them to stand in the middle of a crowded side walk, she just says OK, and doesn't give you a funny look. We spent 4 hours taking ubers and walking around the city. It for sure was one of the best birthdays I have had in a long time. :)

Emily & Zach - Christopher Place Resort I Newport, Tennessee

Hands down, most amazing wedding I have ever been a part of. I am so incredibly blessed to have a bride who, even though she decided to move her wedding to Tennessee, still wanted to keep you as her photographer. <3
The road to this wedding was an interesting one. Matt and I decided to take the opportunity of a destination wedding, and turn it into a vacation for ourselves. Upon arriving in Gatlinburg, the wildfires had made their way down the mountain. Which, we were lucky we arrived when we did, they had just started evacuating Gatlinburg and no one else was allowed into town. We were blessed. We just lost the place we were supposed to stay. Locals, and some vacationers lost their belongings and their homes. So right from the start it was a challenging week. I was super worried Emily & Zach would change their minds and not make the trip down, but they did.
I cant even with these photos. I need to have a wedding in the Smoky Mountains every year for the rest of my life. That would make me happy. Thank you guys for having Matt and I witness this amazing day.

Lindsay & Greg - Friendship Gardens I Michgian City

This wedding pulled at my heart strings a bit. Upon arriving, Lindsay informed me her grandma was sick and she wasn't sure if she'd make it to the ceremony. Having lost my grandma just a few years ago, I knew what it meant for Lindsay to have her grandma there. Yet the mood was still upbeat and we made the most of it while getting ready. 20 minutes before the ceremony we got word grandma would make it to the ceremony. We did have to wait on the ceremony for an extra 30 minutes but it was the worth the wait. So many emotions surrounded people throughout the day. I have to say it will be one of my most favorite wedding's of 2016. Even down to Lindsay dancing with her grandpa at the reception. It was pure bliss. Thank you Lindsay and Greg for having me as your wedding photographer.
